FC Bayern Munich capped off a successful 2015-16 season by winning the DFB Pokal for the 11th time. The Bavarians defeated Borussia Dortmund 4-2 in the final at the Olympiastadion in Berlin.
Bayern took the lead through Robert Lewandowski in the 29th minute, but Dortmund equalized through Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang just seven minutes later. The two teams traded goals in the second half, with Lewandowski scoring again for Bayern in the 53rd minute and Marco Reus equalizing for Dortmund in the 64th minute.
Extra time was needed to separate the two teams, and it was Bayern who eventually emerged victorious. Mario Götze scored the winning goal in the 108th minute, giving Bayern their first DFB Pokal title since 2010.
The victory was a fitting end to a successful season for Bayern. The Bavarians won the Bundesliga for the second year in a row, and they also reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League.
