Taylor Swift Announces Release Date for '1989 (Taylor's Version)'
Swift's Ongoing Re-Recording Project
Taylor Swift has announced the release date for '1989 (Taylor's Version)', the next album in her ongoing re-recording project. The album, which was originally released in 2014, is part of Swift's efforts to regain ownership of the masters of her back catalog.
Announcement and Release Date
Swift announced the album's release date at the final Los Angeles stop of her 'Era's Tour'. The album will be released on October 27, 2023.
Swift's re-recording project began in 2021 with the release of 'Fearless (Taylor's Version)'. She has since released 'Red (Taylor's Version)' and 'Midnights (Taylor's Version)'.
The re-recorded albums feature Swift's own vocals and production, giving her control over the masters. The original masters were acquired by Scooter Braun in 2019, a move that Swift publicly criticized.
