A Magical Night for Real Madrid in the Champions League
Bayern Munich Left Fuming After Late Offside Decision
Real Madrid Pull Off Another Dramatic Comeback
Carlo Ancelotti shrugged and called it something magical without much explanation after Real Madrid pulled off another late-game Champions League comeback against Bayern Munich on Tuesday.
The score was 2-1 to Real Madrid giving them a 3-2 aggregate lead in the 13th minute of added time only. Bayern Munich have now lost 11 Champions League matches against Real Madrid the most one side has lost against an opponent in the competition.
Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel said the decision from officials to stop play for a VAR check in the build-up to Real Madrid's second goal was "a joke".
The Bavarians thought they had equalised on the night through Robert Lewandowski but the goal was ruled out for offside against Kingsley Coman in the build-up.
Replays showed that Coman was level with Real Madrid defender Eder Militao when the ball was played but the decision went against Bayern Munich.
Tuchel was furious with the decision and said it had cost his team the chance to reach the final.
"It's a joke," he said. "We were the better team and we deserved to win. The decision to rule out our goal was a disgrace."
Real Madrid will now face Liverpool in the final in Paris on May 28.
