Liverpool FC Held to 2-2 Draw by Feyenoord in Preseason Friendly

Reds Come From Behind Twice at Anfield

Liverpool FC were held to a 2-2 draw by Feyenoord in a preseason friendly at Anfield on Saturday. The Reds twice came from behind to earn a draw against the Dutch side, who are managed by former Liverpool player Arne Slot.

Liverpool took the lead in the 16th minute through Mohamed Salah, but Feyenoord equalized just four minutes later through Igor Paixão. The Dutch side then took the lead in the 55th minute through Oussama Idrissi, but Liverpool equalized again in the 61st minute through Darwin Núñez.

The draw was a disappointing result for Liverpool, who were looking to build on their 5-0 win over RB Leipzig last week. However, it was a valuable exercise for Jürgen Klopp's side, who are still getting up to speed ahead of the new season.

Liverpool's Defense Looks Vulnerable

Liverpool's defense looked vulnerable at times against Feyenoord, and they will need to improve if they are to challenge for the Premier League title this season. The Reds conceded two goals from set pieces, and they also looked shaky at times when defending against Feyenoord's counterattacks.

Klopp will be concerned by his team's defensive performance, and he will need to find a way to shore up the backline before the start of the new season.

Núñez Shows Promise

Darwin Núñez scored Liverpool's second goal of the game, and he showed some promising signs in his first appearance for the club. The Uruguayan striker is still getting used to Klopp's system, but he has the potential to be a valuable asset for the Reds this season.

Núñez is a physical presence in the box, and he is good at holding the ball up. He also has a good eye for goal, and he will be looking to add to his tally in the coming weeks.

Liverpool's Fixtures

Liverpool will continue their preseason preparations with a game against Crystal Palace at Anfield on Friday. The Reds will then play RB Salzburg in Austria on July 27 before facing Manchester City in the Community Shield on July 30.

Liverpool's Premier League campaign begins on August 6 with a game against Fulham at Craven Cottage.
