The Edmonton Oilers finished their regular season on a high note with a 5-2 win over the San Jose Sharks at Rogers Place on Tuesday night.Sub Headline
Connor McDavid led the way for the Oilers with two goals and an assist, while Leon Draisaitl added a goal and two helpers. Zach Hyman and Evan Bouchard also scored for Edmonton.The Oilers came out strong in the first period, taking a 2-0 lead on goals by McDavid and Draisaitl. McDavid's goal came on a power play, while Draisaitl's was a shorthanded tally.
The Sharks got one back in the second period on a goal by Timo Meier, but the Oilers restored their two-goal lead on a goal by Hyman later in the frame.
Bouchard made it 4-1 in the third period with a power-play goal, and McDavid added an empty-netter in the final minute to seal the victory.
The win gives the Oilers a record of 53-21-8, which is good for first place in the Pacific Division. They will open the playoffs at home on Saturday against the Calgary Flames.
